Helpful Information

How would you best describe your photographic style?

I love to use a mix of timeless, classic portraits as well as some more intimate poses that show you embracing as a couple. When I shoot a session or wedding, I often think about which portraits I would print to put in my own home and which photographs I would want my children and their children to have. I always aim to have a good mix of photos of you looking directly at the camera but I also try to get some of those in-between moments as well.

Do you travel for weddings?

I love to travel! With my home base being Raleigh, North Carolina, I am central to many wedding venues in the Carolinas as well as Virginia. I also offer waived travel fees to certain locations in coastal NC.

How do you ensure a wedding day runs smoothly?

While I HIGHLY encourage all of my couples to utilize a wedding planner (they are key to successful wedding days in SO many ways), I always ask to be a part of the timeline prep which begins no later than 30 days ahead of the wedding. I often ask my couples about timing of events during the initial consultation, just to be sure we have the perfect amount of time for the day to run smoothly.

Would you recommend a first look?

80% of my couples choose to do a first look for a multitude of reasons. Being a former bride myself as well as shooting all kinds of weddings over the years, I will say my favorite moments from a wedding day are when both the bride and groom experience that first look moment together in private. After the first look, we are able to truly have fun together with the whole bridal party together as we capture most of our photos before the ceremony. This leaves my couples with the option to join the cocktail hour and greet guests or gives us extra time for bride and groom portraits at both the ceremony and reception venue.

How soon can we see our images?

I work hard to maintain a 2-3 week turnaround time for all portrait sessions and a 4-6 week turnaround time for all weddings. Should a delay occur in the timing of the delivery of your gallery, you will be notified as soon as possible.

What is required for booking?

In order to lock in your wedding date, a non-refundable retainer of $1000 is due along with a signed contract. The remaining balance is due no later than two weeks prior to the wedding.
